You can buy the domain name from a domain registrar like Namecheap and connect it with HostGator.
HostGator normally charges $12.95/year for a domain name. You can register a domain name from Namecheap for less than $10. For the first time customer, it offers the domain name for just $0.88!
On top of that, Namecheap offers Free Domain Privacy Protection for Life, for which HostGator charges $14.95 annually.

All of these are optional and can be done by using free tools. So I don’t recommend you to buy these services immediately. You can take these services later if needed.
